Winter Workshop at Level Best Art Cafe
Last week we had our first winter workshop, combining our Horticulture, Artco and Seasonal sessions, as well as beging open to the general public.
We made mobiles out of naturally sourced materials, using homemade inks and paints, which Jane Ostler, head of Artco has been making in peparation for the workshop.
We had to be careful not to use anything plastic based, or with anything that wasen't natural and it was a steep learning curve at first for some, who are used to using PVA glues, polyester fabrics as well as laminating pouches ect.
We made paint using egg yolk and glue using flour and water and for the most part we had great success, but there's plenty more we can improve upon.
Even if we are unable to eradicate all plastics from our workshops, it was a fun experience and a good tester for how we can do without unrecyclabale, readily available materials and how we can do things more traditionally.
See pictures of us preparing for the workshop, as well as photos of our three groups coming together on the day.
