The Level Best Art Café opened in 2008 as a social enterprise project run by The Dacon Trust Ltd. It was established to provide work and life skills training to adults with learning disabilities within a town centre environment. The training takes place within our four business projects:

Dacon Bake – Catering and running of the Café

Seasonal Produce – Making and selling jams, chutneys, fruit cordials and gifts for special occasions

Horticulture – Growing produce on our allotment and working alongside the park rangers in Castle Park

ArtCo – Art and design projects and the administration of our Art Gallery

We currently provide work skills training to over 60 trainees and this is continually growing. We are always looking to take on new starters and can provide a flexible training programme so trainees can experience being part of one or more of our business projects throughout the week.
