Personal Statement
"The work in this exhibition is a mixture of acrylic paintings, collage and mono-prints.
My work has the natural world at its source, plants, birds and the landscape.
I visit Scotland and Cornwall each year and am inspired by the colours and shapes of mountains, headlands, seas and lochs in all weathers and lights. I am also influenced by the wonderful straight lines of the Essex countryside and its big skies. Some of my work emerged from a visit to the raw, elemental landscape of Iceland.
In my paintings I use a variety of techniques to build up texture and create a sense of ambiguity and mystery.
Each print is a one off: made by over printing in different colours and by using a range of stencils and mark making.

This is Sheena's second show at Level Best and we are delighted to have all new work. Including mono prints with an abstract/landscape theme, her work is varied in colour, size and price and the artist is fond of patrons own interpretations of what they see/think/feel etc (remember to sign the guest book, or else!).
