Colchester In Bloom Awards Ceremony

Our horticulture group displayed themselves the other night at The Moot Hall, Colchester Town Hall for the annual Colchester In Bloom awards ceremony.

We won first prize for "Community Projects & Groups" and took home a trophy and certificate (now pride of place by our Seasonal dresser), for dressing up our cafe shop front celebrating VE Day 70 years on. We were also a part of Anglia In Bloom and expect to take part and best our efforts next year!

Attending the ceremony last night were trainees Simon Waller, Dean Smith & Alex Joslin (who all played a part in our cafe front display and attend horticulture sessions Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays) and staff member and queen of the allotment, Shona Lockheart. We sometimes work with Pam Schomberg of "Colchester in Bloom", Dave Harris of "Friends Of The Priory" (who gave the opening speeches), every week with Castle Park Rangers and at our East Bay allotment.
