Speed Painting with Lois Cordelia
On Monday 2nd November Lois Cordelia speed-paints a live portrait of Chloe.
We decided to ask her some questions.
Q: How long have you been painting?
A: Um, I started when I was doing ‘A’ levels 15 years ago, I was doing black and white drawing and paper cutting and my art teacher Mr Emery suggested I do something else.
Q: What’s your favourite colour?
A: Ooh! Green, dark foresty green, but I do love every colour, and combining them.
Q: Do you have any tips for Speed-Painting?
A: Paint onto an existing coloured surface, large areas look finished then.
Q: What other techniques do you do?
A: Paper cutting, mixed media sculpture, speed sketching. I’ve recently started cutting foam board.
Q: Have you ever done screen printing? Only your paper cuts are similar to cut paper stencils.
A: No, never. People often ask me that.
